CTA and AIS to Implement APISdirect 1.0

October 10, 2007

Halifax, Nova Scotia - CTA-FOS (Computing Technologies for Aviation) and AIS (Aviation Information Services, Inc.) have sign with SecureTRANSIT to implement APISdirect 1.0 into their flight planning applications.  This integration will enable their applications to add the additional functionality of APIS processing to their products and in turn, enhance the value of their applicaitons to their customers.

APISdirect acts as a “headless” engine that accepts SecureTRANSIT’s proprietary transitXML formatted data from CTA and AIS through a secure connection over the internet, then validates and submits their crew and passenger manifests to the appropriate government agencies.  APISdirect uses departure and arrival airport codes embedded in the data to determine which government agencies will require APIS data and files the documentation appropriately.

“The implantation of APISdirect allows users of CTA and AIS to get rid of a big step and eliminate the risk of government fines” says Jason Noftall, VP of R&D at SecureTRANSIT.  “APIS compliancy is government required and fines are levied based on timeliness and accuracy of APIS transmissions”

APIS compliancy has been recently mandated for smaller Part 91 aircraft (in addition to current Part 121, 125 and 135 requirements) and will be officially implemented in February of 2008 by the US CBP (Customs and Border Protection) who has certified SecureTRANSIT as APIS vendors.

About SecureTRANSIT
SecureTRANSIT is an international software development company with offices in Canada and the United States.  It delivers global solutions for APIS (Advance Passenger Information System) record processing that keeps any size airlines in compliance with United States’ Customs and Border Protection regulations for domestic and international flight, as well as those of many other countries.  It has products that collect, validate, submit and track mandatory identity information then matches passenger and crew data against No Fly lists of high-risk individuals that allows action to be taken before they can board commercial, charter or private aircraft.

Its products, APIScontrol, APISadvisor and APISdirect, are bulwarks of the new air travel security imperative that integrates existing reservation and flight systems using high-speed online connectivity that delivers smart, non-invasive passenger screening and makes every flight safer.  Thousands of remote airports can be connected to this security grid using portable data collection hardware and software supported by mobile technology that can reach every airport, every corner of the globe.

SecureTRANSIT supports the SaaS (software as a service) model to keep costs low and provide rapid deployment.  SecureTRANSIT products are certified by US CBP.  Set-up is fast (1-2 days); all that’s needed is an Internet connected PC and one hour of online training.  If an adapter isn’t already built for integration to your back office reservation application, adapter customization is available.
